Our organically crafted Douglas Fir Essential Oil is steam distilled from the sustainably wildcrafted deep green needles and twigs of the Pseudotsuga menziesii evergreen tree growing wild in evergreen forests in the USA. The essential oil has a very intense yet soft, woody-balsamic, sweet coniferous aroma with a vibrant, robust character and great tenacity.
Douglas Fir trees are not a single species, as there are approximately 50 different species of Douglas Firs that thrive throughout the Northern Hemisphere. Towering in heights as great as 320 feet with diameters as large as 17 feet, they are second in size only to the two North American Sequoia (Redwood) genera.
